When our old, quality front-load washer, which has served us well over many years, was in need of new bearings; none of the local repair outlets was willing to take on this tedious, time-consuming task that often ends in failure. One repair Guy said he would take it on, so I bought the parts in preparation – he never showed up. Another company, after hearing my correct diagnosis on phone, said they’ll send someone to do the job; the Guy came over, turned the machine on, then told my wife “you need new bearings – sorry, the entire tub assembly of the machine will need replacing, it’s not worth it…” and billed her $120 for the visit (I later got that charge cancelled after complaining – the owner told me never to call them again). Fortunately, I found Vlad at VG who, after a few messages describing the issue, decided to help us out. He told us it would be a lengthy task, gave us a realistic, reasonable quote, showed up on time as promised, and worked hard getting the machine entirely apart and putting it back together with new bearings and seal kit – it runs smoothly now! Very happy with his service and definitely would call on him again. Also happy to have my old washer back; it’s working like new ever since. No reason to recycle a perfectly good washer; thank goodness there is still at least one honest craftsman out there who is willing to put in the time and effort.
